Aircraft Sewage Effluent (ASE) poses a formidable challenge owing to its elevated concentration of pollutants, notably toxic chemicals identified by the distinctive blue liquid. Effective pre-disposal treatment is essential as the content significantly exceeds the sewage acceptance limits set by the local municipality. 

The limitations of conventional on-site treatment using biological plants underscore the substantial divergence between aircraft sewage and its domestic counterpart. Notably, the total Nitrogen content in ASE stands at an astounding 50 times higher than that found in typical domestic waste.

This unique challenge in aircraft sewage management necessitates strict adherence to local standards and a specialised pre-treatment approach, particularly as conventional biological technology has proven ineffective for mixed terminal wastewater due to similar reasons.
